The Coaster is a modern, future requirements equivalent traffic system (PRT = Personal Rapid Transit) for the transport of persons and loads in a stationary (routed elevated, at ground level or under floor) rail system. The necessary energy and intelligence are in the vehicle.

During the entire trip the vehicle is independently steered, led and controlled. This self driver system combines thereby advantages of the individual traffic and avoids at the same time disadvantages of well-known means of public transport.

The Coaster is the first (world-wide) PRT-system, which has been approved and released by a governmental authority for personal transport (Switzerland 2007).
